I have noticed that Jeremy Kyle keeps saying "Would OF", "Could OF", or "Should OF"....which is really irritating because it isn't right! It is obvious he is saying "of" and not "'ve" which would be the correct way, as it is short for "would HAVE" or "would've".  With the ignorance in Britain getting worse and worse, it would be nice if things shown and said by TV presenters and on TV programmes would be correct English.  The other day I began to watch one of the programmes that I had taped, and written across the bottom was something on the lines of "I AM HERE TO PROVE THAT I DIDN'T SMASH YOUR SHIRE HORSE'S"   Immediately my eye was drawn to the apostrophe in Shire Horses - WHICH SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THERE...unless of course, something was missing from the sentence shown on the screen such as " I DIDN'T SMASH YOUR SHIRE HORSE'S HEAD".  Please you editors, get your spelling and grammar correct. As a result of this, as minor as it may seem to a lot of people out there who are in the 'Let's talk text and ignore our heritage Brigade' this meant that I had to turn the programme off as I couldn't bear seeing it displayed across the screen for others to follow, thinking that putting apostrophes in mere plurals is correct - AND THERE ARE A LOT OF THEM ABOUT!!!!!!!
