I recently watched the Jeremy Kyle show about Britain on benefits. Its not nice to watch as I'm a 21 year old female currently working two jobs and getting less than people on benefits these people shouldn't be allowed to be on benefits they don't deserve it. why should they get to sit around and do nothing while I'm paying taxes on two jobs for them to get more than I earn. Angry Angry Angry

I would love to know how that couple after getting their rent etc paid were still receiving £1700 a month in benifits. My hubby is particially disabled and on benifits, we do get  90% rent paid the other 10% we pay, he has a mobility car but we only get £800 a month to live on, out of that we have to buy food, electric, gas and everything else. How can they get so much benifits, we cant. I cant get carers allowance cause we are not on the high rate. He is 63, they are kids and should be working

Im 20, and since I was 17 Ive been on benifits, I dragged myself off them, the benfits trap people, and its incredibly hard to find work, especially with no skills, or work exspirence such as what I had, I am now in college, I live alone and i live on 30.00 a week, the people who were shown on T.V discussed me, becauseI am willing to work, and to try and better myself, and I barley have enough to live on, and during the hollidays I have no money at all. if it wasnt foir connexions, i would still be stuck on benefits, because they helped me to find out that i am still entitled to housing benefits, alot of the people who work for the benefit system are not helpful, and are judgemental. the benefiots need to be changed, because when on benefits your not allowed to go to college for more than 16 hours a week and gain skills to better yourself. which keeps people trapped.

I watched the show about Benefits, and it made me think, why has other members of society, such as asian comunities not been visited? why have only the steriotypical people who are on benefits been visited?

teenagers who are kicked out, turn to the benfit system and council to get houses, and when they get there house and there benfits, nothing more is done to help these teenagers, and so they suddenly haveallthismoney, and a lot of them turn to alcohol or drugs.

Jeremy said today that he feels that jealousy can't be counselled. He said that you need to loose something important through your jealousy to overcome it. I agree that it's a hard emotion to overcome but I have another theory and wonder if this has ever been researched. My son is diagnosed with OCD and has some very rare symptoms which were only recognized by a very experienced psychologist. Even he had only seen these symptoms in two patients in the 60's. I myself have come across two more people with the same symptoms.
My point is that OCD can be quite complex and very mis-understood. It is far from just an obsession with cleaning, in fact many sufferers don't have the cleaning trait at all. Looking into our family history there are many forms of unrecognized OCD, some classic, some unusual but one that stands out to me is, obsessive, unralistic jealousy, so strong in some family members that my husband's Nan had written on her husband's grave, 'Yes Les, I did love you!.' This jealousy is present in several family members, mainly male but some female. They all have other traits of OCD, undiagnosed but with effects on their lives. Most of these people are balanced in other ways and I strongly feel this has been inherited through genes rather than learned behaviour or life experience. All family members hide their jealously from others who are not within their immediate family unit. Luckily my husband hasn't inherited this trait even though I am told that his Mum had it and so has her sister, two brothers, nephew and niece. My husband does however have other OCD traits.
I wonder whether cognitive behaviour therapy or even medication in extreme cases would help. Does Graham or anyone else have a theory on this? I would love to explore it more, I have some very interesting DVD footage of my son which was used for his diagnosis. It's quite shocking behaviour and only demonstrated within the family home. I would love someone like Graham to explore this sort of thing further as I bet there are many people and families suffering in silence.
I don't want to go into my son's symptoms on here but would share them with Graham if he finds it interesting.
