The site as you may have noticed has had new seo friendly software installed and the last few days have been spent, modifying and customizing smf to fit the site.

New features.?!

Well theres many new features to the forum, but many of which are still being setup in the admin panel.

1 Soon hopefully integration with facebook accounts will be one of the features.

2 The forum now has search engine friendlier url`s and title to posts.

3. More functionality with posting threads,

4. Easier to private message other users by clicking the icon next to their post.

5. forum auto embeds images videos from url`s

 if you want to post a picture or youtube video you just copy the url to the pic which would probably be hosted on a site like http://www.imagehosting.com

for youtube videos you dont need the embed code, you just copy the url from the browser top bar and paste it in a post, thats it, much simpler than bbcode or html


6.spell checker for those of us that make mistakes

7. notfications will now send you a link to the actual thread

8. On login you can see 2 links to new posts as below

Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.



The list goes on and will be updated.

I just love it. You've done so much work on this it's amazing, thank you. I had a quick look at the live chat logo on the right, gets me to the bit where it says

This function is temorarily disabled, please use the forum

Thought I would point that one out since the spell check has decided not to help you, 
Some more smileys might be kinda fun. 
I hope lots of people take the time to vote on this, even if it's just to say they're not keen.  Maybe the vote isn't in a prominent enough place.

thanks for the comments, glad to know the update was worth it. Still putting the final touches together so dont be suprised if things move a little, although the main layout should stay as it is now.

Have you changed your favourites link then Sammy Jane? You could just delete the old one and just use the new one now. I like the notifications by email giving the hyperlink straight to the subject now, it's much better then trying to find it each time.
I think where there's a blue bar the writing may be a little clearer in black or red.
I was trying to see if it was possible for us to put in vote bar as well, when we start a new thread, but couldn't find it

will have a look at the menu bar colour, you should be able to start a poll when you post a thread, will check.

If you click on a forum or category , when you see the list of threads, at the top it says start new poll

I like the idea of the image hosting site. So once I've uploaded a picture on it, can I send it to someone by email?

I think so.

What you can do is upload a picture there ,copy the url it gives you after upload and paste it into your posts which would display the pic.

Assuming you would like to share pictures that is.
