Hi, i'm 18 years old and in university at New Zealand. I am a Filipino immigrant and have lived in New Zealand for over 2 years.

I've made quite a few friends during my time here. These days however, I choose not to take time to see them anymore. Does this seem like normal behaviour? I mean is it uncommon for someone to be indifferent about social isolation?

I am not unhappy about my situation, it's just that I find it peculiar. Don't people usually WANT to be around other people?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

hi there i would not worry too much about not being around people 24/7, Yes as humans we are meant to be sociable but some times awhile on our own is quality time. You are 18 you are studying and this puts a strain on you. Have your quality time do something with it i draw or read. But dont lock your self away for ever. we do need contact with other humans but we need to find ourselves too. excuse my spelling i have the use of 1 eye oh and i'm new to this site too from Ireland

Ok im new to this site i have the use of only one eye so forgive me if i make mistakes. I love the show even though i could never air my problems on air. Some people wont agree with the programe but others will I'm in the latter half. I have had enough of my own problems to deal with and find it a great idea that this program can put people in touch with those who can help.

i think you are perfectlly normal, i belive myself being the way that i am, i dont like to much human contact either, i like to stay inside and read and do my studies, but you do need a few friends to go out and have fun with, they are also good for helping you with problems Smiley , i would be very greatful if you would help me with my post i put up earlier, thank you

Generally I think humans are quite  sociable, but i do think its healthy to want some alone time. It allows you to remain in touch with yourself and clear the head a little.
