Yes,speak to your GP and request a community health nurse,who are trained to deal in this.Depression and anxiety are a disease,same as a broken limb,and should only really be treated by those trained to do so.You wouldn't take a broken leg to the local bar person (no insult to bar persons) to fix.Same applies with your illness. Hi sorry to correct you blue but its a CPN you need. I am a long term suffer of the same have been since I was 14. They come to your home and talk to you where you are most comfortable. A word of advise though tablets are not always the way to go they have there side effects some of which you dont discover until you come off them. When you go to your GP tell them exactly how you feel dont feel like your the problem or embarrassed you have nothing to be ashamed of tell them you want a referal to the mental health clinic as an out patient thats ur quickest route then youll get whay you need they will also sign you up to some self help groups and one to one sessions etc. Good luck let us know how you got on.

hi cass, do you drink? this ads to anxiety, it can relieve symptoms temporarily but really does make it a lot lot worse!
