Hello everyone, I am here to ask Jeremy for help!...

Jeremy,

I wonder if you can help me? Please allow me to get straight to the point:
I am looking for my Nigerian father who I believe was deported from London back to Nigeria in 1977 for a reason unknown.

I am 34 years of age and I have had no contact with him since 1977
(when I was 2 years of age). I believe he was held at Deptford Police Station and deported thereafter. He was known in London between 1975-1977 as Ken Sijuade.

I am Michelle Sijuade Trafford, his daughter.

I have been in touch with the Home office, Scotland Yard, the British Red Cross, and the Salvation Army who were unable to assist me, because it has been too long since his deportation.
I have also instigated a meeting at the Nigerian Embassy, which I believe has resulted in a letter going to the Ooni (King) of Ife, Nigeria. I was not furnished with confirmation of this ever taking place and was informed that he may never reply, so I am not convinced that anything will come of it. I am in the process of writing a letter to Immigration/UK Borders Agency and the Birth Registry Office for the release or direction of his deportation records; specifically for his full name, DOB, explanation for deportation and contact information in Nigeria. I am awaiting a response on these. I am afraid that these offices may not have access to paper files from this many years ago – I was reliably informed of this by an Officer at Scotland Yard. It is thought that these offices may need further details to carry out any search – which may be difficult.

If I am unable to find any help or gain any further knowledge from the UK I may need to go to Nigeria to take part in both Television and Radio broadcastings and I just wanted to be sure that this would be strictly necessary before I take this drastic step on the search for my dad.

IF you able to assist me in this search please, please be in touch. I would be ETERNALLY grateful.
