todays show - friday 5th November - parentage unknown, alcoholic parents

I have forced my self to reply to this show. I do not watch This show normally, however, was flicking. The story behind the show was very sad and the 17 year old boy on it had to deal with for however many months, due to his parent drinking and arguing in front of him that he may not be the son of the father he knew. This must have ben horrendous for this young boy (as Jeremy said) I can imagine his turmoil, I really cant!

However, Kyle needs to realise how negative his previous comments were. I am a recovering alcoholic, with two wonderful very young children, I am not proud of any of my past, and I have been lucky that my alcoholisim was prior to having my children.

The comments that Kyle made, should these parents be alcoholic, which was his implication, would only massively serve to devastate their already low self esteem and ability to deal with the life they lead, and all i can surely say is that, should that have been me, on leaving the show, I would have reached a drink immediately; he treat them like dirt.

Some readers may say they deserve that, but being on the other side of drink problems, i know, as would many professionals, that this is extremely detrimental to both parents and child. This man should realise what he is inducing in people before he sets out (probably, i hope, unintentionally) to annihilate any aspect of self esteem this family have. His words have probably aided in a huge family row that could go on for as long as the initial problems have.

This man should be removed from TV until he has some understanding of the problems he has been given the opportunity to 'oversee'. I find his manner with people who are in the wrong, as these people obviously were in the situation, absolutely deplorable. They have done wrong, but in order to make amends they have to review their own self worth and ensure they address them, not be ground further down by ignorant TV presenters!

Now Im sure this is the main stay of this series, and others may find this amusing, but I had to make a comment, Im disgusted that such a presenter gets paid for his critical understanding of human life, and has no concept of the reason behind the behavior of the people he deals with.

I hope this lovely boy that was interviewed, as an after thought, post degrading of his parents, comes out of this show as rounded a young man as he can be.
